Scope

This is a c.9 month Maternity Cover Contract based in our Head Office in Slough with some travel expected.

The Case Management Specialist is responsible for providing expert judgement and advice to line managers, employees, HR colleagues (both in the EPSC and Telefonica UK), and delivering the employee experience while ensuring issues are addressed and the company remains legally compliant. The advice is principally in relation to complex/red flag issues where there isn`t always a clear answer so judgement decisions are often needed.
The role also supports the remote upskill of line managers and remote/face to face upskill of HR colleagues.

The role interfaces with many stakeholders including EPSC teams, line managers, Telefonica UK HR teams, Legal, Trade Unions and Fraud and Security.

Responsibilities

- To provide timely remote expert advice to line managers, HR colleagues and CAP champions on the application and interpretation of a wide spectrum of complex/red flag issues from people policies, including CAP, Grievance, Diversity, Flexible Working, Bullying and Harassment
- The upskill of line managers and HR Colleagues, through coaching and remotely delivered ad hoc interventions
- The support of line managers and HR Colleagues at disciplinary hearings remotely and face to face.
- Effective management of high risk/high profile cases, engaging senior stakeholders, Legal, PR, ER, as required
- Ensure Telefonica UK is legally protected in all employee related matters, while considering the employee experience and balancing appropriate risk
- Ensuring delivery of Service Level Agreements, as well as responding to Queries from Action and Clarification, ensuring achievement of Service Level Agreements
- Supporting Legal with the collation of ET documentation and interface with witnesses
- Identify any insights, learnings and trends from cases and queries, ensuring they are communicated appropriately and inputted into MI & policy development
- Own and drive individual projects and activities for European People Services focused on process re-engineering, continuous improvement, efficiency optimization and innovation through enabling technology
- Deliver group based presentations
- Deliver group based projects
- Ensure legislative updates are incorporated into process

Desirable Skills/Attributes

- 3-5 years` experience of providing expert advice and judgement to line managers on policy application to include disciplinary, grievance, dismissals, compromise agreements, discrimination and flexible working issues
- In depth understanding of UK employment law relating to case management and associated risks
- A thorough understanding of HR policy and processes
- Strong credibility, an ability to influence at a senior level and strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Coaching skills
- A strong customer service focus and employee experience mindset
- Collaborative style and good team player
- Able to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities
