We are the Telefonica UK Supply Chain team. We manage the end-to-end supply chain for all customer products including all mobile phones, SIM cards, tablets and accessories. Your role

The Demand Planner is responsible for the creation and management of accurate statistical sales forecasts for a defined portfolio of devices across all Telefonica UK sales channels. Forecasts will be created and measured against a variety of time horizons, including short term in support of supply planning and stock purchasing, mid-term for Telefonica Group negotiations, and long term to support Telefonica budget and planning processes. Building relationships with commercial, channel, device and marketing teams to ensure a collaborative approach to forecasting will be the keys to success. Demand Planners will also play an active role in continuous improvement including system development, business process and project work with a constant goal to improve on business KPI results, most notably forecast accuracy.

Responsibilities

-Creation and management of statistical demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function using planning software.
-Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, evaluate forecast results and optimise product launch/withdrawal forecasts.
-Build collaborative working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Device and Channel teams to understand demand drivers; how the product portfolio mix, tariff & pricing structure, promotional & seasonal strategies and their sales targets, translate into forecasts for product and provide insight using the demand planning tool to drive improvement.
-Liaise with Sales teams to add promotional volumes into sales forecasts as well as management on-going forecasts in line with changes to price & tariff.
-Develop mid & long-term forecasts to support strategic, purchasing and budgetary objectives.
-Collaborate with the Telefonica UK Supply Chain Supply team to help ensure efficient investment in stock.
-Represent Demand Planning on any relevant projects.
-Continuously seeking opportunities to improve business process, challenging the status quo in order to seek improvements in business KPIs.
-Produce scheduled and ad hoc reporting as necessary to support the understanding of performance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Share reporting with key stakeholders, tailoring the communication to them.
-Run the wider Supply Team KPI reporting function using outputs from multiple sources, managing Access Databases and utilising power pivot functionality within Excel.

Demonstrable Experience

Essential
-Significant experience in a supply chain environment, with proven experience around demand planning/forecasting processes.
-Proven ability of building and maintaining collaborative internal and external relationships.
-Confident communicator with proven negotiation and influencing skills.
-Excellent organisation, numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
-Self-motivated with desire to learn and develop.
-A positive challenger mentality with a commitment to continuous improvement.
-Works well under pressure.
-MS software skills- advanced Excel, Powerpoint & Word

Desirable
-Practical and technical experience of supply chain planning systems, especially ToolsGroup SO99+, creating statistical forecasts.
-Project management skills.
-Commercial awareness.
-Knowledge of Power Pivot, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), SQL and Macros within MS Excel.
-Access database knowledge.
-Experience of BI reporting.
